One of Edvard Grieg's most celebrated works transcribed by 'the acknowledged master', Thomas Heywood, for Grieg's centenary in 2007.
Originally part of Book 5 - Op. 54 of the Lyric Pieces for piano solo and later arranged for orchestra by the composer himself, Thomas Heywood's transcription for Concert Organ Solo includes all four movements from Grieg's orchestral suite.
As an additional bonus for concert organ performance, Thomas Heywood includes the Scherzo from the same book of Lyric Pieces, Op. 54 not included in Grieg's Lyric Suite for orchestra. The Scherzo is included in Heywood's Lyric Suite transcription because the movement adapts perfectly for the Concert Organ.
